Sparkle, Bling and Jingle Wire Wrapped Ring! Excellent gift idea!

It is Kendra here again and in keeping with my own personal theme of the last few weeks, gift ideas, I decided to create the perfect gift for those friends who like a little Sparkle, Bling and Jingle!  The Sparkle, Bling and Jingle Wire Wrapped Ring!  This was created using Wire, a wooden dowel, Jump Rings, Jump Stars and White Shrinky Dink and Staz-on inks in red and green, a hole punch, a heat gun, various wire tools, the Cricut Expression, The Deep Cut Blade, the Cuttlebug and Cuttlebug Christmas Embossing Folders!  It was a fairly easy ring to make and both of my best friends told me they wanted one for Christmas as soon as they saw it!

Using the Cricut Expression, the Deep Cut Blade and the White Shrinky Dink along with Plantin Schoolbook, cut out 1 inch circles using Multi Cut of 2.  Remove from mat and hole punch.  Using Christmas embossing folders and the Cuttlebug, emboss Christmas images on the 1 inch circles and ink with Staz-on on both sides.  Heat with the heat gun until shrunk and thread a jump ring though.  On half of them, only put one jump ring on the other half put 2 jump rings.   Using the Star jump rings attach 3 small jump rings and set them all aside for a moment until you get the ring base made.  Examples show below!

Using the wooden dowel, I wrapped the wire around it 8 times.  I then cut off about 3 extra feet of wire and started wrapping the wire in a figure 8 around 4 strands of wire at a time. ( See photos for example)  I continued this until the whole ring was covered.  Do not worry if it is not perfectly straight.  I think it adds to the charm of the ring by being a little messy.  I then took 3 large jump rings and threaded them through the ring mesh I created and attached 5 smaller jump rings that were created earlier in the pattern of short, star, medium, star, medium, star, short.  Repeate this for each Large jump ring.

You will end up with a mess of jump rings and this is exactly what you want.  The messier, the better!

This is the perfect ring that reminds me of winter and all the things I love about it.  The colors of Peppermint and Wintergreen, the noise of jingle bells, the shiny tinsel on the trees…..need I go on?

So go ahead and challenge yourself to create a one of a kind gift for those who mean the most to you!  I cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Be sure to come on over and check out what is happening on my blog www.ScrappinCricut.blogspot.com  you will be glad that you do! 🙂

Happy Scrappin’
