Weekend Barbecue… Thank You Card

With the weekend holiday… we are heading to a barbecue with friends. I wanted to bring a thank you card with us to show our appreciation for the invite and time we will get to spend with family and friends.
I was so excited to use the cartridges that came with the Cricut Expression 2 again. They are just so versatile and it is easy to use. The first time I used the mat, my paper did stick to the mat. Just in case this has happened to you, all you have to do it wash the mat with soap and water and let it dry and it will be good as new.
This week I used the “Just a Note” and “Cricut Essentials” cartridges. These come preloaded on the Cricut Expression 2.
Instructions:
1. Cut your background paper to 10″ by 6.25″. Fold in half so that the card is 5″ by 6.25″).
2. Use the Cricut Essentials cartridge and cut out border 1-s (press shift, border 1). Change the size of the shape to 1.5″.
3. Cut coordinating patterned paper and layer them on the card with the excess portions hanging off the right side of the card. To highlight the border that we cut, I placed it on top of the layers.
4. Trim off 0.25″ off of the right side of the card so that each layer meets the edge of the card.
5. Then cut a heart out of a piece of paper using the Just a Note cartridge cutting the hearts to 2″. Use the negative to stamp clear embossing ink. I used Ranger’s Emboss It clear ink.
6. Then sprinkle with UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel). Heat with a heat it tool. Then repeat one more time for extra coverage.
7. Add embellishments and flowers.
8. Then add rubon “Gratitude”.
I hope you enjoyed the project and have a wonderful, safe holiday weekend! Happy Memorial Day…
Thanks,
Addison Paige
