Glimmer and Glitz Covered Flower Necklace Draped in Crystals.

With Christmas right around the corner. I am creating projects for family and friends. I made this necklace for my mother. I have been trying to cut corners but still make amazing gifts. This necklace was made of paper. I used the graphic 45 Transatlantic paper that is black and gold little circles. I used the Cricut to cut out 2 inch squares and cut those in half to create triangles. Than with the point up fold the right side over to the middle and the left side under to the middle. Make 8 of these to make the base of the necklace. Than glue together in the middle, once dry using versamark cover the piece and cover in clear embossing powder. Keep adding embossing powder and then spray with iridescent gold glimmer mist heat until the spray melts into the embossing powder. Add stickles around the edges than add the diamond dust. I created a fabric twisted rose to add to the center. Than draped the piece in swarvoski crystals in 2 colors to add a glam to my mom’s necklace.

Girly Girl Gift

This girly girl gift idea is one that you will not want to wrap. It is made using Bazzill Basics paper and the Forever Young Cricut cartridge. I cut the girly silhouette on the Cricut in different sized layers and backed it with chipboard, added some bling and sprayed on some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.I have the silhouette resting on a simple wooden easel that I covered with a hot pink lace.

Then I used a scrabble tile, covered it in red Bazzill Basics paper and cut out a matching girly silhouette out of pink paper and glued those to the tile, I screwed in an eyelet and then added a silver plumbers chain. Gift complete! Now I have to go run and hide it so it will be a surprise for Christmas!

Halloween Cricut Cake Style

For Halloween this year I thought I would declare my love for the Cricut Cake! I had to think of a costume that I can wear easily while toting two youngsters around and still do all things I need to do. So I knew it had to be something cute but practical. To make one yourself read on.

Steps:

1. I used my Cricut Cake baker’s hat from CHA January 2010 as a starting point.

2. I cut utensils, cupcakes and cake slices out of Bazzill Basics card stock on my Cricut. I used the Sweet Treats Cartridge and the From My Kitchen Cartridge to cut the shapes.

3. I added Glimmer Mist to the utensils to give them a pink shine. I also, added some sharpie marker to the front cake to make it stand out.

4. Next I glued the pieces together with a tacky glue and then hot glued them to the baker’s hat.

5. I finished off the costume my adding the Cricut Cake Apron.

Special Note: Thanks Sarah for modeling in the costume with the Cricut Cake machine.

Chocolate Cupcakes…compliments of the new Cindi Loo Cricut cartridge

This past weekend I was crafting with girlfriends and gave them a sneak peek at the Cindy Loo cartridge I had just gotten…we are all totally in love with it!  There’s so many cute flourishes, animals, flowers, and the font is fantastic!  I really love the doilies and cupcake wrappers that are on there too….made my heart pitter patter!!

So, fast forward to yesterday {Monday Funday} when I decided I’d make some cupcakes with my fabulous homemade chocolate frosting and then to make them even better I dressed them up with one of the awesome cupcake wrappers from my new favorite Cricut cartridge, Cindy Loo.  I also made a little topper for them with one of the little doilies on the same cartridge.   You probably can’t see it very well {click on photo to enlarge it}, but these wrappers & toppers have some extra love on them…I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and put a bunch of Hot Rocks on them with my iRock tool.

You can download my free tutorial on how to make these cupcake wrappers & toppers HERE.

And as always, feel free to hop on over to my blog to see some other crafty projects I’ve made.
