Christmas Countdown

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. I know I should be putting up a post about Thanksgiving this week but I am just so excited about Christmas this year I am just gonna skip right on over it and get the countdown going! I created the “Days til’ Christmas” sign using the Winter Frolic Cartridge for the font out of silver vinyl and Winter Lace cartridge for the snow flakes out of white paper. The stripes of green paper and the white snow flakes are all Bazzill Basics.

The area to write the days on is a large circle of chalk board vinyl and we’ll count the days down with chalk.

Snow Days Cartridge Gift Wrap

Cyndi of Lovely Lula here and I am excited to show this project I made using today’s Hello Thursday Cartridge called Snow Days that I paired with vintage holiday wrapping paper.

I first wrapped a plain white box top that I picked up at a paper supply store, with red holiday ribbon to give it more texture. I then used the Snow Days cart to cut a cute little bundled up kid shape out of the vintage paper. I cut several of them and glued them to the box.

I also made a coordinating card because really how could I resist?

Holiday Advent Cupboard

Cyndi of Lovely Lula here and I have to say it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, even here in Arizona, and that means home decoration is not complete without a Holiday Advent Calendar. I made this one using the Cuttlebug.

Supplies:
Advent cupboard found at the local craft store
White Craft Paint
Glue Stick
Modge Podge
Tacky Glue
Pink and Green Bazzil Basics Cardstock
Cuttlebug
Letter Dies for the Cuttlebug
Cardboard Tree Form
Green t-shirt yarn
Pearl top pins
Pink novelty ribbon

Now run off and make a great advent calendar to decorate your home. Happy crafting xoxo Cyndi aka Lovely Lula

Scandinavian Christmas Tree Skirt

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. I used this weeks Hello Thursday Cartridge called Scandinavian Christmas Cards to create a Scandinavian Christmas Tree Skirt. I used my Cricut and the Scandinavian Christmas Cards Cartridge to cut fabric, that I back with heat and bond. I changed the direction of the reindeer so that I had one facing left and one facing right and in the center I place the holiday tree. I ironed it on to a large piece of ochre yellow wool felt that I cut into two half rounds and sewed together, it closes with pieces of Velcro. I finished it off by adding green cotton ribbon to the edge and a few bows. Now I just need all my holiday goodies down from the attic. Where’s the ladder?!

Memorial Day Cake

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here.

Ready to Celebrate Memorial Day? Do it with your Cricut Cake! I created this Memorial Day Cake using my Cricut Cake and the Independence Day Cartridge. The star shapes are cut out of colored fondant that I rolled out on a crisco covered cutting mat and let sit in the refrigerator for a half an hour. Once it was stiff I removed it and loaded it into the Cricut Cake and cut the shapes. I then left the cut pieces on the mat and returned it to the fridge for another half an hour. By allowing the fondant to stiffen up each time it is easier to handle and there is less possibility of broken or torn pieces. I remove the little extra bits with a sharp tooth pick. The white and red icing is butter-creme and is piped on with a bag and a star tip. Find my Butter-Creme recipe here: Lovley Lula’s Butter-Crème Icing

Purse Jewelry

I went to a Miche Party the other day and I fell in love with the charms they had for their purses. Since I could not afford to get them all I decided that I would just make my own and then they would be perfect for me and exactly what I wanted! I realize this example is not close to the Miche Charms, but this is my take on holiday purse jewelry for my Miche 🙂

Here are the cuts I made:
Large Snowflake (1.25″) Christmas
Small Snowflake (1″) Winter Woodland
Star (1.5″) Rock Princess
Tree (1″) Winter Woodland
The coffee cup (1″) is from Gypsy Wanderings and the swirls (.72″) coming up from the mug is from Rock Princess. Using my Gypsy, I welded the swirls to the shadow of the mug.

After I cut and assembled all the “charms”, I decorated them with some bling and then dipped them into Helmar’s Acrylic Sealer since I knew that the paper would probably tear if I didn’t use some type of hardener on them. I attached each of them to a few jump rings and then to beaded wire, attaching it all to a 1/2″ ring.

This was so easy to make! Go ahead, mix it up and try one yourself! You can make them for any occassion or they would make a great gift for those people that are hard to buy for!
