It is time to think about New Year’s Crafts and Journals. What will you keep note of this past year? Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. I created a book with the New Year in mind. I will use this as a journaling book for the next few weeks as I write and doodle about 2011.
I used my Cuttlebug and the Clockworks Embossing Folders to pull the details of this journaling book together. Once it is complete I will bind it on my YourStory. Here’s to the New Year.
Happy crafting xoxo Cyndi aka Lovely Lula

Hi, it’s Kendra once again on this beautiful Tuesday here in Sunny South Carolina!
Now that August has arrived it is Back To School time once again here in the South. With some of the schools around us already back in session and my own children start school next Monday I want to take the time to share a project that you can make with your children to make going back to school a little more fun. It still amazes me how time flies by…I am struggling with the reality that my oldest daughter, Abby is a Senior this year and will be graduating from High School…it just does not seem possible. Where has the time gone?
My project today is actually the project I do with my oldest daughter just before school starts every year. It is taking plain 1 inch binders with the outside pockets and making them personalized and special just for her.
Here are 2 of the folders we made her last year. (We are still waiting to get her class schedule for this yeasr before we can make them for this year.) They were created with the Cricut Expression, The Gypsy and the following cartridges linked to the Gypsy; Cuttin’ Up, George and Basic Shapes and Cursive 101. The neat thing about creating these with your children is that they can be customized to your child’s likes.
Here is a look at the side. Your child can put these folders in their locker and will be able to clearly read the spine with the subject on it.

Happy Wednesday I hope everyone is having a creative day. I had so much working with this new cartridge and matching accessories. I decided to make a card to showcase the some of the great cuts on this cartridge. I used this beautiful shaped card from the card feature 3rd row-3 button non shift at 5 inches. I used the combo feature 3rd row shift key on cut in the pattern paper and the green cardstock too. I cut the leaves out of the green paper. I also cut out the flowers at 2 inches from the font feature and used 3 of them on the card. I stamped the sentiment on the chip tile and added the ribbon and the pearls. This set is so amazing and everyone should add this kit to their wish list.
Have a Super Creative Day

Hi, it’s Kendra here this beautiful Tuesday morning in Sunny South Carolina!
I have been spending several years creating recipe pages as a fun way to pass my favorite recipes down to my children. I have multiple books and my children love to look through them and use them to help me cook.
In most of the country, fresh fruit is to be had at almost any farmers or roadside markets. Blueberries are one of my favorites!
Create a recipe page using your family recipe and create a treasured piece of art to be passed down to your children!
This recipes card was super simple to make and only took about 30 minutes.
The items you will need are the Cricut Expression Expression, Nate’s ABC’s Cricut Cartridge and Creative Memories Stork’s Delivery Cricut Cartridge as well as Cardstock in White, Brown, Blue and 3 shades of green.
You will need your favorite Blueberry Cobbler recipe printed off in brown ink. I use an 8×8 format since it is easier to read.
The Word “Blueberry Cobbler” is 1.75 inches tall welded in Design studio and shortened to 7.5 inches long using The CM Stork’s Delivery Cricut Cartridge.
The Inch worm and Blueberries were cut at 4 inches for all layers <inchworm> from the Nate’s ABC’s Cricut Cartridge.
The pen work on the letters was completed using my favorite Uni-Ball Signo UM-153 White Pigment Pen.

I hope everyone is enjoying the projects the Hello Thursday blogs have been featuring. Here at Mixologycrafts we will be creating new projects for you all weekend. I have to say I love these cartridges and will be using them to create parties for all my friends. My beautiful little girl turns five next month. We are having a Princess and the frog crafting party. I had so much fun creating her invitations. This year I vowed to use the products I have before buying new. So with this in mind, I used papers I had from when I taught for Canon at the CKC events. These papers are all 8.5×11 so I had to get creative with my measurements. The castlecard was cut at 4.5. I used the castle card with the layers adding embossing on the top layer to add texture to the card front. I love the thick glitter Diamond Dust. I created an insert tag that has all the information for the party. I hope this card inspires you to purchase this amazing and fun cartridge to create the perfect party for that special little girl in your life.
Princess Party Cartridge
Flower shoppe was used for the flowers.
I created different colors for boy or girl. I have had to create to whole party themes based on how popular she is with the boys at not even 5.
I will be adding all the pieces of her magical princess party over the next couple days. I have a canvas wall hanging, cupcake toppers, treat boxes and some other surprises.
Have a great Thursday and check back we will be starting a new giveaway on Friday.
Have Super Creative day
