Floral Emporium Baby Wall Hanging!

Hi everyone how are you? I just came back from an amazing weekend and I created this adorable wall hanging before I left but it did not get posted. I used the new Floral Emporium imagine cartridge and one of the basic shapes included on the imagine machine. The chose two pattern papers and the coordinating solid pink on the cartridge to create the cute little onsie.

Tip and trick: to decorate the onsie I used artificial flowers and flower trim green cut in half to create the diaper.

I hope everyone is having a great day

The family mail holder was created using the gypsy. My family has a very hard time putting mail away. It seems to migrate all over the house. When I saw this basket at the flea market I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. I am so happy with how it turned out.

Trash to Treasure Turn Your Empty Bottle into a Elegant Center Piece.

I  hope everyone is having a great week. I am sorry for not posting last week.  My daughter got very sick after having her MMR. It is no secret I waited forever to get the shot for her. My son has mild autism and I blame the vacinations. I by now stand my conviction. My daughter had a horrible reaction she basically got the measels from the shot. I spent 3 days in the hospital with her last week. She is better now but it was the scariest experience ever. The funny thing is her doctor now said we will not vaccinate her again. I am very thankful that Kendra posted for me and I was able to focus on my baby girl. I am back now and ready to explore all the fun new topics.

This weeks focus is fall harvest and trash to treasure. I am a fan of vino and we had a empty bottle and I had this crazy idea. I think this centerpiece was inspired by a blog I visited in the past.

Harvest Napkin Ring

Hi, it’s Kendra here again this wonderful Tuesday and I had the best idea and inspiration today when I went to get my nails done.  (My nail lady Jenny must have thought that I was nuts!)  There was an empty toilet paper roll sitting on the counter and I though that I could make something wonderful with it and here it is!

This is definitely a Trash to Treasure Project!

The Harvest Napkin Ring!

I used the Cricut Expression, the Simply Scarecrows Cricut Cartridge, scraps of fabric, Elmer’s Glue diluted with equal parts water, various Bazzill Basics Cardstock in Blue, Gold, and Copper.

So be sure to save your paper towel and toilet paper rolls and create your own elegant Napkin Ring Holders!  🙂

If you would like the directions for this project be sure to check them out HERE!

hurricane lamp home décor tutorial

SONY DSC

One of the things I like to do on a Friday afternoon is to peruse the posh stores in my home town to keep current on trends and accessories. Unfortunately Hurricane Irene outer bands have reach my area and hopefully I will not be needing to use this.

me2I’m Maggie Lamarre I  fell in luv with a hurricane lamp until I saw the price tag was $59.00. I must admit I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to price tags like this, I can 90% of the time think of how it could have been done better at a fraction of the cost by using my trusty Cricut.

Immediately I started think of ways I can create something similar for less than $7.00 by using the vases, candlesticks and candles.

Supplies:

  • 2 Vases, 2 Candlesticks, 2 candles from the Dollar Store
  • Cricut Machine, Martha Stewart Elegant cake art cartridge, Vinyl from Provo Craft
  • Viva Decor Pearl pen, Etch all
  • E6000, misc.:beans

Instructions:

  • Clean vase with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt
  • Cut< Accent1> on page 40 at 4"
  • Adhere the cut image to the clean vase, by following the mfg. instructions, rinse let dry
  • Find the center of the vase add a dollop of E6000 adhere the candlestick to the bottom of the vase, add a large sturdy book on top of the vase to add pressure for the vase to adhere to the candlestick for at least 1 hour.
  • Use the Viva Decor pen to add accents on the edges of the etch image, let dry.

  • Add the beans to the vase, then insert candle.

Voila in less than 2 hours I created a better Hurricane lamp that can be interchangeable for any season and will be a great housewarming gifts.

CTMH Art Philosophy Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday I hope everyone is having a creative day. I had so much working with this new cartridge and matching accessories. I decided to make a card to showcase the some of the great cuts on this cartridge. I used this beautiful shaped card from the card feature 3rd row-3 button non shift at 5 inches. I used the combo feature 3rd row shift key on cut in the pattern paper and the green cardstock too. I cut the leaves out of the green paper. I also cut out the flowers at 2 inches from the font feature and used 3 of them on the card. I stamped the sentiment on the chip tile and added the ribbon and the pearls. This set is so amazing and everyone should add this kit to their wish list.
