Candy Necklace – Something to Celebrate

Hello Thursday friends, Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. This month’s Hello Thursday Cartridge called Something to Celebrate really offers something to celebrate! All of us at Mixology Crafts joined together to create a Sweet Sixteen Party using the cartridge. I created the jewelry project for the Jewelry Bar, which is just one of many stops at the party.

It is totally cuties and totally tween! Just my style! There are cakes with faces, candies and tiaras.

I used the candies on the Something to Celebrate Cartridge and cut out all of the layers onto different colors of glitter, jewel tone paper. I glued them together and added Ranger Glossy Accents on the top, sides and back of the shapes. While still tacky, I embedded amethyst jewels on to the front and the necklace findings on to the backs. I braided purple embroidery floss and added a Busy Kids Plastic Necklace Clasp.

Felt Bouquet – Flower Shoppe Cartridge

Cyndi of Lovely Lula here. Summer time in Arizona is really like January in Minnesota, only brown instead of white. We lack living vegetation and long for flowers, which we’ll have to wait until February to see. So I decided to use the Flower Shoppe Cartridge to create a Felt Bouquet. These are also all pins so they have a dual purpose! I used my Cricut to cut card stock to use as templates to cut out the felt pieces. I also used my Cuttlebug and some of the flower dies to cut out the felt flower shapes. Once I glued all the felt pieces together with Tacky Glue, I attached vintage buttons and then glued pin backs to all of the flowers. They are ready to wear or gift.

4th of July Necklace

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. It’s coming up on Independence Day and that means this crafting girl needs something red, white and blue to wear. I used the cartridge Just a Note embedded in the Cricut expression 2: 5th Anniversary Edition to cut pin wheels out of while shrink plastic, colored them red and blue with Sharpie markers. I used a hole punch to make a hole in the centers and shrunk them. I also create circles and gears in this same fashion. I used T-Shirt yarn, braided and knotted to make the “chain” part of the necklace.

Happy 4th of July!

Jewelry Made With The Cricut And Nail Acrylic!

Hi, it is Kendra here again.  On Saturday, I went to get my nails done and had the coolest idea.  Why couldn’t I make a piece of jewlery out of paper and clear nail acrylic.  I asked my nail lady before I left if I could purchase a bottle of her UV Clear Gel Nail Polish, which, believe it or not, you can dry using the Teresa Collins Stampmaker!  Whoo Hoo, I was ready to create!  So as soon as my nails were done, I headed on over to Sally’s and purchased all of my supplies.  I purchased the Perfectly Clear Acrylic and Acrylic Liquid as well as a Acrylic Nail Brush, Nail files and Nail buffers.   I already had an Acrylic Nail Drill at home as well as a various tips to sand with.  You will also need the Cricut Expression, Crocs Rule Cricut Lite Cartridge, Autumn Celebration Cricut Cartridge,  B is for Boy Cricut Lite Cartridge, Various Cardstock, a Necklace Toggle and a Pin Back.

The first thing I tried making with this method was the Sock Monkey Pin.  I then went on to follow the Beach theme for this week with the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon Pink Fish Necklace.  Hope you enjoy them both!

The Sock Monkey Pin

Sock Monkey Nail Acrylic Pin – Back

Cut out at 3” the Boy Sock Monkey from B is for Boy Cricut Lite Cartridge.  When you go to cut the layers, you will want to cut one set as normal and the other set using the flip key.  The reason you do this is so your piece of jewlery is finished and dressed on both sides!  You will then start to use the Nail Acrylic as directed to start building up the Acrylic one side at a time.  You will put the piece into the Teresa Collins Stampmaker to let it completely dry.  Do this for both sides.  Using the nail files and nail drill you will file the  acrylic smoothing it out.  Once this is complete you will use the nail buffer to smooth it out.  Be sure to dust your piece off.  Working one side a time starting with the back, paint clear UV Nail polish on the back.  Place it into the Teresa Collins Stampmaker to cure.  Apply the Clear UV Nail Polish to the front and cure again.

Teresa Collins did it again (Sophisticated) rocks for Jewelry…

I love to work with Teresa’s intricately detailed cartridges. She has put so much time in the small little details. This cartridge(Sophisticated) has phrases, multiple chandeliers, amazing vintage keys, crowns, frames, and 3 amazing different alphabets. I know this Cartridge will be a must have for every scrapbooker’s Cricut Library. As everyone knows on this blog I like to mix it up. I am eclectic and always thinking way out of the box. this cartridge works perfect for creating fun jewelry with a T.C. edge. I created two pieces the first the bird charm necklace and a crown pin.

The bird charm necklace:

Supplies used:

Provo Craft Cricut Expression

Teresa Collins full Cartridge Sophisticated

grunge board

perma opaque black marker

crystals

glossy accents

gold pen

ribbon

Bird Charm Instructions:

Cut the bird and bird>s from base layer at 3 inches from grunge board

color with black marker and go over the legs and beak in gold.

Cover the whole piece in glossy accents let dry.

using a paper piercer add a hole and a jump ring.

find a chain or a ribbon to hang your charm from.

Crown instructions:

Supplies Used:

Provo Craft Cricut Expression

Teresa Collins full Cartridge Sophisticated

grunge board

perma opaque black marker

crystals

glossy accents

fabric or printed paper

feathers

pin or alligator clip

fabri-tac glue

pink shimmering paint

For the crown cut the crown3 and crown3>s from base layer at 3 inches

Paint the crown with pink paint outline the edges with black marker.

Cover the fleur de lis layer with pink crystals, I used hot fix crystals.

Attach the fleur de lis layer using fabri-tac

I also used the flower crystals and white rhinestones from my stash. The center of the crown is set off by a larger brighter flower rhinestone.

I than added feathers to the back and a small ribbon of fabric at the bottom.

This is going to be one of the projects that the girls at Malia’s birthday party will be creating. I am doing a princess party for her birthday. I am excited she had a blast make the crown with me. I will adapt the design by using glitter instead of crystals for the party. The cool thing is there is a king’s crown too. I can have each of them make their own name tag.

Have a Super Creative day and I hope you are as inspired by the new releases as I am.

I am in my studio all day oh the fun I will have.
