Cheater Halloween Costumes

We are celebrating Halloween this week at Mixology Crafts. There are several Halloween cartridges you can play with but you can also use all of your carts to create something to celebrate this fun and festive holiday. Stay tuned this week to see what we come up with.

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. I used my Gypsy, my Cricut and several different cartridges to create a fun cheater Halloween costume idea. I cut shapes out of different colored card stock and attached them to wooden BBQ skewer sticks with glue. They will sit in the vase for party goers to pick up, hold up to their faces and play a character. This is a great thing to have around at your Halloween party for those cheaters who think they are going to get out of wearing a costume. Ha – we’ve got that covered!

Here are where each of the cuts came from.

Mustache: Bump in the Night Cartridge

Glasses: Forever Young Cartridge

Kissing Lips: Love Struck Cartridge

Bow Tie: Paper Doll Dress-up Cartridge

Jack-O-Lantern Mouth: October 31st Cartridge

Vampire Teeth: Pumpkin Carving Cartridge

Party Projection Idea

This week at Mixology Crafts we are sharing Party on the Cheap ideas. There are so many ways to use inexpensive materials and your imagination to create a fun party!

Cyndi of Lovely Lula Here. My husband just celebrated his 40th Birthday so I had to come up with some clever ideas to decorate, on the cheap. I used black paper and cut clocks out of the paper on my Cricut using the Old West Cartridge and the Creative Memories Travelers Cartridge. I picked up a school overhead projector a few years a go at a surplus sale and used that to blow up the cut clock images and paint them on windows throughout the house.

I also used the black cut paper (for over the hill of coarse) clocks and laid them down on the table scape of the party. His gift was a photograph I bought of a vintage clock seen HERE. It was a fun, inexpensive theme that only took me a few hours to pull together.

Splish Splash Water Party

My daughter’s school had an end of the water party and I was super happy to make cute mini “splash friends” cupcakes and all the party goodies to go along with them. I used yellow and blue paper and ric-rac for water and sunshine. I used the Cricut and the Create a Critter cartridge to cut out the words splash friends. I also used the Paisley Die from the Cuttlebug to make water splashes. It was such a hit and as the weather was heating up in sunny AZ the mini water bottles and glasses of lemonade we much appreciated by the pre-preschoolers. This is such a fun concept to make for any party or cook out you might be having this summer. Click here for theĀ Paper Party How To Happy Crafting xoxo Lovely Lula
